At Northfield Primary school we provide children with rich, deep learning experiences that balance all aspects of computing. Technology is such a big part of our everyday lives it is important that children are taught the skills to be able to be safe and effective in today's modern technological world. Computing at Northfield has deep links with every subject we teach, whether it be mathematics, science, history, literacy, art or DT, it is an essential tool to learning. Our computing curriculum allows children to be introduced to a wide range of technology, including laptops iPads and interactive whiteboards, allowing them to continually practice and improve the skills they learn. This ensures they become digitally literate.

At Northfield we take Internet Safety extremely serious. We have an E-Safety Policy that provides guidance for teachers and children about how to use the internet safely. Every year group takes part in half termly lessons on E-safety and the children at Northfield understand how to stay safe when using technology.

If you would like more information on E-Safety please have a look at the following links;

As of Monday 20th April 2020, as part of our response to the COVID-19 lock down we have launched Purple Mash to all children at Northfield Primary School.

All children have their own personalised login and access to their class.

Teachers will be providing activities, learning experiences and challenges on this platform for children to access while they are home learning.

The response so far has been fantastic, with lots of children already logging in and exploring the games, activities and challenges that the platform offers.

WHY NOT LOG IN AND EXPLORE FOR YOURSELF WITH YOUR CHILD'S LOGIN AND DON'T FORGET TO SEND US PHOTOGRAPHS THROUGH DOJO.
