The Environmental Studies scheme cuts across all subjects in the Primary School and at each level children are encouraged to observe carefully, to investigate critically and communicate meaningfully whilst exploring their environment. We believe all pupils should be taught to respect their environment. The school utilise the school grounds and locality as a resource to support learning. The school implements an exciting Forest Schools programme that is lead by an experienced and enthusiastic school coordinator.

Feedback Received by Oak Forest School from our children and staff
"On behalf of the children and staff in Key Stage 1 we would like to thank Jim and Melv, for organising our wonderful school visits to Howell Wood. We really, really, loved all of the activities, especially the marshmallow toasting and building our den. We hope they enjoyed the 3 days that Northfield Primary School spent with you. We had a great time all the children and adults came back to school and said it was one of the best if not the best visit they have ever been on!"
"Thank you for all the good fun!!! and all the fun times, it was really wonderful."
"Thank you for inviting us to Howell Wood, we will certainly come back. What a wonderful opportunity to learn outside the classroom and in a great wood."
