Due to the restrictions of Covid-19, there will be some adjustments to homework as paper copies and work won't routinely be passed between home and school. Project work will be brought into school on designated days only. Further details of any changes will be provided by class teachers.
All children are expected to read for at least 10 minutes every weekday and spellings and times table work may be sent home.
Children who haven't been able to read at home on the previous evening, will attend Reading Club at breaktime. Reading Club is also open to children who choose to stay in and read for pleasure.
'Homework Choice Grids' are used by KS1 and KS2. They allow children and their families to select activities to complete and will be sent home termly. Within each half term, children are expected to do at least 3 pieces of work, with evidence in their homework book. Details of the individual homework grids for KS1, Lower KS2 and Upper KS2 can be found on their class web-pages.
Parents are invited to comment in their child’s homework book. We value the support of all parents in a positive home/school partnership.
Homework expectations are in line with recommendations and guidance from the Department for Education. Class teachers are responsible for informing parents of specific timetable arrangements and produce termly information leaflets about topics that are going to be studied.
Please contact the individual class teacher for further guidance and support.
